Public Health
Without segregation at source, household, medical and hazardous waste mix together — breeding disease, contaminating water and fouling the air when burned in the open.
Our solution: Smart collection and clean waste-to-energyRestoring Earth. Empowering Lives.
Mazilinda is building Kenya's waste-to-value system — AI-optimised collection, clean energy from biogas and solar, community rewards and practical education — turning waste from a problem into public health, power and profit.

The problem
As production and consumption increase, the waste from households, industries, farms, construction sites and health care facilities is projected to triple by 2030. Kenya already generates an estimated 22,000 tons every day — and as urbanization accelerates, our towns and cities alone will be producing about 5.5 million tonnes a year by 2030.
Most of it is never safely managed. Collection, transport and disposal fall short, and with no segregation at source, household, medical and hazardous waste end up mixed together — feeding littering and illegal dumping, polluting the environment, risking our health and straining the infrastructure we already have. Prevention is cheaper than cure.

Our solution: Smart collection and clean waste-to-energyThe harm falls hardest on low-income neighbourhoods, straining clinics and infrastructure that are already stretched.
Our solution: Community engagementLittering and illegal dumping wash waste through drains into rivers and oceans, degrading the natural beauty of our land.
Our solution: Awareness and behaviour changeThe problem is big. So is what we can do together.
